The Why Behind Commercial Chaos for a Cure on July 23 – Ensuring Continued Hope and Healing for Patients

Paul Schelling, a Sioux Center native, thought it was nothing when he had a swollen throat and felt a lump on the left side of his throat. Then the 22-year-old blacked out while delivering a load of hogs so scheduled an appointment to see both his local primary care physician and then an ENT specialist. A biopsy was done on the lump and the results came back as cancerous, so Paul was referred to the June E. Nylen Center where he had a PET scan and then met with his Medical Oncologist, Dr. Donald Wender, in June 2013. It was determined Paul had Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer.
